Gwadar Region Will Serve as a Centre of Trade and Investment under CPEC

Director-General of Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Mujeeb Ur Rehman Qambrani stated that Pakistan’s southwestern Gwadar district will be the centre of trade and investment in the future owing to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

The master plan of Gwadar smart port city expects the establishment of an industrial base to not only provide plenty of career opportunities but also increase tourism in the region.

Designed after a collaboration between Pakistani, Chinese and other stakeholders, it is inspired by China’s city of Shenzhen, and the Gwadar Development Authority is actively implementing it to ensure timely delivery.

The Gwadar international airport in partnership with China is expected to be operational in 2023 and will speed up the development process of the region.

The coordination between Pakistan and China on the CPEC and fighting Covid-19 has revamped the technological development of Pakistan.

CPEC has established a very favourable environment for business and economic conditions in the country that will benefit people in a lot of ways.

The civil society organisations and development sector can play a crucial part in spreading information and in support of the immense socio-economic potential of Gwadar.

CPEC intends to strengthen Gwadar as an economic hub that will benefit the local population by upgrading their quality of life rather than just using it as a connecting port.

Balochistan’s economic, energy, technical and social potential will be fully achieved through such projects planned at Gwadar port city which will allow for strong economic integration with Pakistan and China.
